A woman says police wrongly accused her husband of murdering her after they wrongly accused him of domestic violence.
The woman, who has not been named, said police had fabricated evidence to justify her arrest.
“They said that I had a history of domestic abuse and that I was trying to harm my partner,” she told the ABC.
“I have been accused of multiple crimes.”
She said she was initially taken to the Brisbane police station in July, but was told that she was under arrest for the murder of her husband.
She said her husband, who was then in his mid-60s, was found dead in his Brisbane home on December 23, 2018.
“He had not been arrested for domestic violence at the time of his death, so the police fabricated that fact to justify the arrest,” she said.
“My husband died in his own home.”
Police have yet to comment on the claims.
