A man has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse and other offences after allegedly abusing a child at his Melbourne home.
A 35-year-old man from Brunswick has been charged with three counts of causing grievous bodily harm to a child and one count of failing to comply with a lawful order.
Police said the incident happened on July 1 at a house in the Beaumaris suburb of Brookvale.
They said the boy was allegedly assaulted while he was sleeping.
“The alleged victim was in the room, which is a bedroom in the home,” Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Koepp said.
The investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing.
